Lewin’s model, commonly known as Lewin’s change management model, serves as a widely-recognised framework for managing change within organisations. Developed by Kurt Lewin, this model comprises three main stages: Unfreeze, Change, and Refreeze. The initial ‘Unfreeze’ stage focuses on preparing the organisation by acknowledging the need for change.
Next, during the ‘Change’ stage, new systems and methods are introduced. Lastly, the ‘Refreeze’ stage secures the changes, ensuring they become the new norm within the organisation. The model is appreciated for its straightforward approach and effectiveness in guiding organisational change.
